Soneva Fushi: The Ultimate Luxury and Eco-Friendly Surf Resort
It was an honor to be one of the first guests along with Alison Teal to document and experience the first sustainable surf experience in the Maldives at Soneva Fushi.
Nestled within the Ba’a Atoll, the Maldives only UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, Soneva Fushi boasts an incredible amount of pristine reef, sea life, and empty surf breaks within a 5-35 minute boat ride from the island.
Soneva Surf, which it believes is the world’s first fully sustainable surf program, using eco-friendly surfboards, leashes, fins, rash guards, sunscreen, and board wax.
Not only does Soneva use the most eco-friendly surfboards and surf gear, but they take incredible measures in recycling 90% of ALL of their waste on their Resort Island, a lot of which goes back into building materials, composted soil for their extensive gardens.
