Surfing Malibu County with Anna Ehrgott
Sunrise surf session with traveling long boarder, board bag maker, and prAna ambassador Anna Ehrgott. Always on the road, it’s becoming more and more rare to catch her at her home zone around Topanga and Malibu County.

Sunset Surfing in Encinitas
Sunset surfing is the best, and this was a session for the books! Aside from the mixed up swells and spring winds, there have been some gorgeous days down in Encinitas after the La Nina rains finally subsided. The day before, the surf was too small, the day after, too blown out. It’s been stunning around North County with the super bloom of wildflowers on the cliffs and the loggy waves below.

Escape to Nusa Lembongan
We escaped from the mainland to the island of Nusa Lembongan, a short speed boat ride away. Lembongan being a much mellower, uncrowded, and less developed place, was the ultimate spot to relax and surf. We hit the waves during high tide, watched the seaweed farmers harvest at low tide, and got to see some of the most gorgeous sunsets.

Thanksgiving Weekend in Baja
More than a few hundred miles south of the border for three nights of super fun surf with Alison Teal and the Fish Brothers.

Indian Summer: Fall Surfing in Southern California
After a wild trip to the Maldives with Alison’s Adventures, we headed back to sunny Southern California to edit pictures, video footage, and just chill out for a bit. The summer never seemed to end, with water temps up in the high 60’s for the entire duration of Fall. Spring suits!!!

April 2014 in Hawaii
Great waves around town, pond exploring, a few water shots at Banyans, portraits, and two weddings.

Donica Shouse x Salt Gypsy
So, I am OBSESSED with surf leggings, especially the ones Danielle Clayton / Salt Gypsy has been making … so when Donica Shouse got a pair, we had to test them in the water. These comfy leggings have saved my legs many times the past few months from reef cuts and sunburn.

What it's like to be a Kid Growing Up in Hawaii
It’s mornings like these that I am reminded why I love photographing people in the water. Kids especially, because their stoke-factor and way they interact with the water and each other is so pure, genuine and … inspiring.

February in Hawaii
February was … fantastic. Exploring, island hopping, swimming with dolphins, and spending a lot of quality time in the water.

January in Hawaii
Here is an eclectic selection of images from my month of January… most of which was spent in the water, of course. A mix of GoPro and DSLR images from a few days spent in Kauai, Oahu, and the rest on Big Island. Enjoy!

Dipping into December
I nearly forgot about Christmas because I was spending too much time in the water. Here are some 70+ highlights from this beautiful month.

Glassy as Golden Hour
i locked my keys in my truck … and there were not any surf-able waves. it was a perfect afternoon otherwise.

On an Island in the Middle of the Pacific Ocean | Fiji
Welcome to the island … home to a quaint strip of shell-ridden beach line, lofty palm trees, and crystal clear water. Alison and I spent about two weeks soaking in some sun, exploring the island, meeting the villagers of the other side, filming a short piece on the legend of the firewalkers, and of course, surfing a sweet left-hander on the outskirts of the lagoon.

New Zealand with Alison's Adventures
Hopped off to New Zealand for 3 weeks, for some more projects with Alison’s Adventures. Some of the highlights included digging holes and basking in the heat pools at Hot Water Beach in Hahei, after a chilly sunset kayak, staying at Karioi Lodge in Raglan, and shooting with Daniel Kereopa, a New Zealand surf legend and extraordinary waterman.
